A while ago I bought a bundle from OCUK and I having random system resets that seems to be linked to what I assume is overheat but rather then flag a error the system simply power cycles and restarts.

Asus P8Z68-V Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
Krypton Z68 650i Intel Core i7 2700K 3.50Ghz @ 4.40Ghz DDR3 Overclocked Bundle
OcUK HD 6850 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
OcUK Crusade 850W Quad Rail High Efficiency '80 Plus' Power Supply

I added a further 8GB of RAM taking the system to 16GB
Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX)

It has a Corsair cooler that is a rather bulky thing. I'm also running 4x SATA HD's for storage, and housed in a NZXT Phantom 410 Enthusiast Midi Tower Case.

I did try running a second 6850 in crossfire but it was far too much trouble.

What is the best way for me to confirm the issue is heat and how do I fix it?

Anyone had any issues with this board?

Not a single error code, no blue screen no lock up just like someone hit the reset button sometimes windows hits safemode on reboot but often not.

Maybe it's overheating causing it to shut down? You got HWinfo64? see what temps you are getting Idle. Maybe the overclock needs a little more volts as it's getting older?

Okay according to HWinfo64 my CPU temp are Maxing at 46C and my GFX slightly higher at 52C. I'm not overclocking anymore stop doing that a while ago as I wanted stability and it seem to help this issue occur less frequently. Going to play a game and see if can't get some higher temps.

That seems pretty high for a idle temp? But they say it will shut down at 100c so see what you get in game

Unless I'm missing something Speccy just gives me temps and system info.

I don't have a clue i've never used it. You'll have to wait for someone else to come up. I'm all out of ideas sadly.

From having a quick Google people with similar problems are saying PSU. So do you have another you could try to see if it does it again?

I remember doing a complete upgrade apart from my crappy PSU.

I regret this, my computer would constantly restart when in games. My motherboard has surge protection on it so it was automatically shutting off. Could it be that?
