Hi I Have the following,

i5 7600K
MSI Gaming M5
16Gb Balistix Ram 2400
M.2 512Gb
MSI 1070
G1 EVGA 650W PSU

Cooled by 2 case fans in the S340 Elite and a H100i V2

I have found that my pc goes into a fit of restarts when I have been gaming a while and will restart constantly before bios for a bit before eventually becoming stable again, this can be induced by using a GPU+CPU stress test for approx 20 mins.

I cannot for the life of me work out what is Overheating, everything seems to sit at OK temperatures CPU is at about 50 Degrees GPU sits at a Solid 70 no issues.

The fact it constantly resets for about 6 or 7 times then eventually boots again seems to me like something is too hot and its waiting for it to cool down before it can boot fully and be stable.

I have updated the BIOS with no change, I tried with GPU out and Justin CPU stress and VRMs on MSI barely broke 59degrees for an hour. Whereas with the GPU it hits 65 and shuts down and does its reset fit.

I'm wondering if the motherboard has a flaw in it where one of the MOSFETs isn't cooled properly by the heat sink.

Also thanks so much for the help guys, this is such a tricky one to diagnose as it could also be the PSU when it gets to the max fans etc ...

Just because I got frustrated I have swapped out my 650w EVGA for a CX430 I had lying about, its a risky move but lets see if it pays off.

Quartz, nail head, 2 hours of gaming and then 40 mins on stress test not an issue. Just need to return the EVGA 650W and select a new PSU.

Any recommendations?
