Pc restarting

My friend is having a problem with his pc,it boots up and works fine but as soon as he starts a game the intro will play and then the pc will just crash and reboot itself.This has happened in several different games.He has a 400 psu,tried fresh install of windows and tried different drivers.The card is a geforce 5700.Anyone know why this is happening?
 
Thanks for the replies i will get him to try and eliminate each one.I see no one has mentioned that it could be the card,is it not a possibility?

Thanks again,i will get him to check the mem first then check the psu voltages to make sure they are stable.Don't know what the psu is just that it it 400w,it is probably generic but i will ask.
 
Thanks for the reply Lysander but i don't think it is the case in this instance because it happens quite quickly after the game starts meaning that the fan would have to be motionless for it to happen that quick.
