Hi guys, I had my Asus Striker II Extreme sent back for RMA as it was freezing. Asus couldn't even boot it, so they sent me a refurbished board back. I stuck that in and the pc keeps restarting and froze once.

Settings are at bios defaults, processor at stock 1066mhz and ram also with 9-9-9-9-24 with voltage as required on label.

-not one component is overheating, the highest temp in the whole system is gpu at 50. CPU at 45.
- not ram - I have tried different kits and made sure their settings were alright.
- swapped gfx cards (just incase)
-checked all power cables going to mobo.
-everest reports psu volts to be 3.29, 5v and 11.98v.

I run prime95 blend and it just restarts. I have unchecked automatic restart, but vista gives no error. It's as if I hit the reset button.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Haven't tried furmark. But I know it ain't the graphics card as I have two of them and the pc restarts with either installed.

Really confused.

If it restarts when you run Furmark, Then it is most probably a PSU problem. Not enough power / useless no name PSU or just a faulty PSU could all be the problem.

What PSU have you got in that system?

I've wiped the hdd and reinstalled windows. Will run prime95 in a minute.
Should i disable some services in windows first incase it does crash and corrupts something in windows?
