Hi,

I have Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9) currently installed in my system.

I bought a second set to upgrade it to 8gb, when i installed it the system would power up then power down 5secs later.

I removed 1 stick and it booted fine, so i swapped it for the other strick and it booted fine, i then tried both stick in the other slot to rule that out and it booted fine.

So i then put both sticks back in incase i seated them wrong the first time and it began rebooting itself again.

I have heard of this issue before but can't remeber what it is that could cause it, any suggestions as to what i could try?

Oh and my bios setting are basically default, i bought with the intention to overclock but i just ended up putting the parts together and running everything at stock.

first update to latest bios using memory stick and qflash,then with just one stick installed look in bios and set qpi/vtt voltage to 1.25v,save/exit install second ram stick and see if it boots

set dram voltage to 1.66v too on gigabyte boards,it will be 1.648v in windows

yes dont worry,1.66v is 1.65v in windows,its juat the way gigabyte labels it,theres no 1.65v option on gigabyte boards

bios was already the latest version (F11) according to the gigabyte website.

tried adjusting the voltages as suggested;

increased DRAM voltage to 1.66V - pc booted woth 3 sticks
Then i adjusted the qpi/vtt voltage to 1.25v, would not boot with 3 sticks,
lowered qpi/vtt voltage to 1.1V, still would not boot with 3 sticks.
Removed third stick and left original 4gb in, booted fine.

It will probably work fine with 2 sticks in now everything is back as it was, but i want all 4 in :(

Any more ideas?
