PC restarts to black screen after power on

The majority of times that I power on my PC it restarts after a few seconds (doesn't even get to the bios screen).

It then just has a blank screen and the keyboard doesn't light up as usual.

All I can do is hold the power button to power off, then wait a few seconds and try again.

It usually boots as normal then.

This never used to happen (but has been happening for a while now) and I haven't changed anything in terms of hardware or setting for ages.

Any suggestions? Any help appreciated!

sounds simular to a probablem i had turned out it was my power supply
i would try get a hold of another psu and try it to rule that out

Yeah, that's what I suspected too. Mine has been heavily used for 4yrs now - time for an upgrade!

Any suggestions on what I could upgrade to?

Ideally i'd like to go fully modular and be able to power CF 6950's/7950's.

Budget of around £130-150.
