Hi guys,

Just a quick sense check because my new(ish) PC that I got last year seems to be running loud. It's always been a little noisy, or more than I thought it would have been.

But lately it's starting to irritate me. I'm unsure whether its the fans or not as the temps seem to be running fine.

The temps are listed here - Temps

The case they are in is the Corsair Carbide 400C Midi Tower. With the supplied fans and the CPU cooler is the Hydro Series H110i Extreme Performance.

I'm just thinking the stock fans could maybe do with being upgraded to run more quietly? Or is something else a foot?

Well if it's always been noisy there's nothing necessariliy wrong with it. Can you locate where the noise is coming from? Is it the fans or the pump on the H110i? In my experience it isn't the quietest of AIOs with the pump, and if that's what you're hearing, there's not a great deal you can do about it. You basically have several options...

1.) Try slowing your fans down in the BIOS or with adapters, 5V or 7V... this may help, but your temps will take a hit, nothing major though.
2.) Buy all new quiet fans, but this will be costly and ultimately you may not be thrilled with the end result given the cost outlay.
3.) Sell the AIO and get a top end air cooler such as the Cryorig R1 or Noctua NH D15. This will eliminate the pump noise altogether obviously, and bring in new and quiet fans, without any compromise in performance or temps.

If you're unsure where the noise is coming from, just disconnect your fans temporarily and listen. What can you hear?

Alternatively some bios allow you to switch fans off so you could do that saving the hassle of opening up the case. Other than that, I did the steps legend suggested {except already had an air cooler) and it worked for me.

Thanks dude will try these now. Sorry for the late reply been a busy week at work and man flu :(

If your temperatures are fine, have you checked your storage? Hard drives making excessive noise is a sign of impending failure, and may sound like fans. I see your storage type is not listed.

Running a SSD and 1TB HDD, dont seem to have any trouble with them.

Sounds like the pump when i listen in close to the machine. Is it worth trying to slow these down or should I leave them as is.

I believe fan 1 is the pumps.
