Hi all,

I've just finished a newish (new Antec 902 case) build and i'm having a bit of a problem.... one day later!?

So my new build/case was working fine yesterday and all last night... gaming/movie. Got up this morning turned on my PC and my Dell screen wont come out of sleep mode via DVI. I check to see all my case fans were working (inc my 5870) and all is ok! I've tried moving my 5870 to different PCI ex slot... same thing! I've tried a VGA cable with no luck. I've tried a different screen... same problem... wont come out of sleep mode. (In fact both screens show no signal until i plug them in, only to go into sleep mode.... grrr!)
I've taken my 5870 and put it in my old HP PC (hocked up to 42" LCD TV in the lounge) and it worked...yay!

My Xbox360 works on my Dell screen... what the hell is going on? I feel like i've eliminated everything but still no solution.

....HELP! (i hate computers sometimes)

Weird, i'd try resetting the bios with the jumper, while your in there re-seat the memory. Maybe the PSU could be the problem? is it up to powering your new GPU? if that dont work them maybe RMA the mobo/PSU/CPU or whatever you suspect? I hate problems like this because they are never clear. From what you say it sounds like the problem lies with the mobo or psu, but im far from an expert. Good luck =)

So i've taken out the little battery under GPU (is that the jumper?) and reset, now we are working!!!! woohoo!!....(i still hate computers at times :D)

Can anyone else shed some light on what might be going on please?!?!

Thanks dude

taking out the bios battery is the same as using the jumpers, glad its working anyway! Maybe you should get the latest bios update for your mobo? :D
the jumper is a little movable plastic object that fits over pins sticking up from the mobo, google 'mobo jumper' if you wanna see examples.

My first guess as to what is going on is that your mobo software is not supporting your current GPU.
