Hello - I was wondering if anyone could help?

So I just rebuilt my water cooled system, turned it on and it remained on for a little while and then just suddenly turned off… when I reseat things sometimes it comes up cpu fan error (I just need to go into bios and disable cpu fan as I use a pump) I clicked F1 to go into the bios and the PC just turned off and never came back on

It now seems totally unresponsive, no lights, no attemp to boot, literally nothing. I have checked for leaks and there appears to be none.

I am swaying towards something wrong with PSU because if it was ram or something else I would see the lights on my mobo indicate RAM.. but I did also jump the PSU and it turned the pump on.

When I plug the 24 pin jumper on, the pump starts… when I unplug the 8 pin cpu a red light comes on l, showing power is making it the motherboard but no CPU, VGA or DRAM lights, just nothing, almost no attempt to boot

I have reseated cpu, checked for water on motherboard, seems dry - I am somewhat confident there has been no leaks but it could have happened without realising, totally lost with this one. I am using the power switch on the motherboard itself to rule out case buttons

Any ideas on what it could be / how I should troubleshoot this? I guess first try to rule out the power supply by testing another?

could you have over tightened the waterblock?
I tried reseating the CPU they are only thumb screws anyway, possibly overtightened but no tighter than I ever have done before.

A part of me is worried I spilled some coolant or water somewhere but it all seemed dry.

I guess I will just have to narrow it down :/

What motherboard?

Tried CMOS reset?

The PSU may have gone bad and not able to supply enough power for your components.

Check all pins on the cables are ok and if using extensions, try without.

Have you got a air cooler and spare GPU? Thinking trying it outside of case.

Id try maybe updating bios if u can unless u already did when it was working briefly. Unless u can do a flash bios without it being on like my new gigabyte mb i got.

Maybe disconnect the fans except the pump and other water cooling stuff, like disconnect case fans as a test, see if anything needs reseating. Hold left ctrl when power off then turn on with it down, i think that used to clear cmos on older mb, dunno if still does.
