PC shuts down

Hi all,

What are the common causes for a PC shutting down as soon as you try to run games? Tried running Saints Row 3 (via Steam) and Borderlands 2. Both result in the PC rebooting.

I had a non-stop problem such as this. Even rebooted during any type of video played in any type of player - full screen or not - and sometimes when playing a Flash game.

Bought some new RAM and it seems to have done the trick. Been about 3 months now.
