I've got a problem with my computer and I don’t know what to do.
When I watch a file/movie using WMP, after about 3 minute, the screen goes blank, I can hear sound still, then about 20 seconds later, a buzzing noise comes out the speakers.
So I have to reset the PC.

It used to do this when I watched MKV files on VLC, for that reason I stopped using it.

I’m using Windows 7,
Intel Core i7 860 2.80Ghz (not clocked)
Asus GeForce 210 512MB DDR2 PCI-Express Graphics Card

My temps are peaking @ 40c, so its not a heating problem. All drives have been defragged.

I’ve even tried another drive with windows 7 on, & it happens on there too.

Please help guys, it been bugging me for weeks, but it’s getting more regular

memtest is all clear. Drivers & codecs have been un/reinstalled..

& its still occurring.. My gpu temp is bubbling around the 75c mark

Do I need a new graphics card maybe.?

Unlikely it's the graphics card. Stress test your graphics card using 3Dmark or something like: http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/

Don't rule out overheating on the graphics card or part of the motherboard so check all of your fans are spinning when they should be and improve airflow through the case if you can.

If it's stable running Furmark for an hour or so chances are it's not the card.

It ran the furmark bench test for all of 2 seconds then the pc shut down, just like always..
The fans are all turning ok, & thhe tower as had no side on for weeks so there is adiquate vetilation..

Is the gfx card screwed.?

Thanks guys for the help. Looks like I need to get a new card..

I'm running two monitors atm. Was thinking about getting a third..

I don't play games so that aint a issue

If it's an overheating issue, you could take the heatsink off the card, clean up the heat paste / gunk, then add some nice fresh new stuff.

Did this recently on my server machine, temps went down from an idle of 62 to around 36

Just done this, now the temps are 65 instead of 75..

I'm gonna buy a new fan off ebay to replace the gash plastic stock fan.

I'll see if that helps

Thanks guys
