pc spec:

i7 6700k @4.0ghz
16GB DDR4
asus maximus 8 ranger
evga gtx 1080 ftw
evga 850w psu
windows 10

so yesterday i had been gaming for a number of hrs and everything was fine and last night i was watching netflix and the pc shut down as if the plug had been turned off and the pc wouldnt turn back on, no power to the mobo nothing so i checked the psu and that was working so i hooked it back up and the pc started not 10-15 mins later while watching netflix it died again.

the cpu heatsink seems to be tight on the cpu and the paste should be fine as i built the pc just before christmas so i have no idea

Have you checked your temps?
Windows event logs?
Tried disabling any fancy power settings in the BIOS?

i had the asus software running but didnt notice the temps when it crashed nor do i have any event logs and ive not noticed any fancy power settings in the bios (though the bios is completely different layout to what im used to)
