PC shutting off and restarting

Somewhere, in a field in cheshire... alright!
Hello

Basically the PC is shutting off and restarting every time I play games (GTA5, Metro 2033, Bullet Storm to name a few) after a few minutes of play usually. It has also shut off and restarted when I've just been using the desktop but the main issue seems to be games.

At first I thought it was the CPU overheating but that was cleaned thoroughly a month or two ago and the max temp its reaching according to Core Temp is 70°C. I ran windows memory check and that came up clear. What else can I try? How likely is to be a problem with the Graphics Card? I've only had it a few months.

Thanks a lot

Iggy

What PSU are you using? It could be crashing due to a power issue.

It could also be a graphics card problem, or a Win 10 instability issue.

Of course, this is just my own speculation and I could be totally wrong!

The PSU is a Corsair HX620 watt which I was told would be enough for an R9 390.

I replaced the R9 390 with my old 5870 and played GTA 5 for nearly 2 hours last night without issue. This would indicate there is definitely a problem with the R9 390 but is there a way to establish exactly what's wrong with it?
