can anyone help me out. yesterday I started playing doom dark ages and would notice after 10 mins or so of gaming under load my pc would shut off randomly without then boot back up on its own. I first put it off to the game and then tried black ops and the same thing, ive ddu my drivers just incase (i know nvidias drivers aint getting the best rep lately). I checked event manager and it gave me a error that it was a dirty shutdown I think with a event also something to do with my gpu too. my psu is about 4 years old a corsair rm850x if I remember right. ive noticed random shutdowns in the past.

can anyoen give me any tips to rule stuff out im worried about sending the psu in for rma and it not being that but from what ive researched from the event code usually is a faulty psu on its way out. *edit* the pc im talking about is the one in my signature the 3700x pc.

With a different PC, or the same PC? How often?

It is possible, yes, but if you're referring to the event I think you are, they don't really mean anything except that the PC shut off unexpectedly.

You could double check your cables, I wouldn't expect the RMx to kick the bucket after just a few years, but you never know.

that was my thought too its a gold rated psu thats usually reviewed well for quality. temps didnt seem any different and I have 6 intake fans at 1000+ rpm I think 1250 or 1100 my cpu is connected to a 360mm freezer 2 as well.
