Ive recently been having the occasionally PC crash when gaming, the PC generally freezes, with a continually tone from the last sound being played. the game screen will freeze then i will get the smiley face screen of death, I then reboot and it will generally be ok for the rest of the night, although it did do it again the other night within 10mins.when i mean occasionally maybe 1 once or twice a week, and i game most nights

The games havnt been very demanding. Robocop, Hell Let Loose and Chivalry II.

PC is running windows 11 i7 8700k, 32gb RAM 1kw phanteks PSU, with RTX3060ti always with UpToDate drivers

Some event log screen shots, but i dont really know what im looking for here

Event 41 just tells you what you already know.
Event 1001 tells you that you have a memory dump. It might give you more information as to the cause but you need to analyse. It On Win 10 you can get WinDbg from the SDK for this. Presumably the same is true for WIn 11.

I would start by running a memory test:
Press the Windows key on your keyboard and the letter R at the same time to open the Run window. Type mdsched.exe and press OK, then select when you want to run it (it gets scheduled to run at boot).

2 x 16GB ram?

I'd re-insert / swap slabs. If got some isopropyl alcohol give a light clean.

I had a memory issue and it was like this. I never found it though. It passed all Memory tests.

im gonna try removing 2 sticks and see how it goes if its memory might be able to narrow it down...
I'd find a way to keep track of the sticks. Small pieces of paper with numbers with tape.

The error you have looks familiar to me. It was 2 years back and only happened after I bought extra 2nd hand memory for an old 3770k system.

memory passed windows test, and some software i downloaded called heavyload (sounds rude).
The thing is my memory passed on memtest86 when having issues. I still swear it was the memory and always same error. Do you have any other memory you could try?

Yesterday, Not exactly related at all but suggested above (Bios Flash) and maybe you could do chipset drivers reinstall etc.

I had my other system lose its oc even though memory oc profile was active in Bios and no matter what I tried it wouldn't budge from stock after being fine other day.

I flashed it again with same current up to date bios and redone my settings like set ram profile to 3600/ curve optimizer to -30 all cores on 5800x3d and enable rebar and it was fine again. Exact same settings. Strange. but worth the re-flash as suggested above for your own needs, too.

Another thing worth trying shot in the dark is install Razer cortex and use game booster to see if it still happens with a bunch of stuff optimised/ deactivated. It might help or point to something. No harm trying it while gaming to see if it persists with crashes.

I'd test your OS storage partition , too.
