Hello, I have a problem with my PC sometimes freezes and i can't do anything, the mouse wont move and ctrl+alt+del does nothing. It usually happens about 20 after startup. I'm running windows 7.

The strange thing is if I reset my pc it will boot up and either do exactly the same or eventually sometimes after only 1 attempt it will run fine all day with no problems.

Anybody come across this problem before?

What are the specs of your computer ? ...CPU, Graphics, memory etc and do you have anything overclocked ?

i5 2500k overclocked to 4.4 ghz been stable for 12 months,

8 gb ram,

6950 2gb gfx,

128gb crucial m4 ssd,

1 tb seagate barracuda,

asrock extreme3 gen 4 motherboard

Hmmmm, id start with the easy stuff first.

Have you installed anything recently, hardware or software that may be causing the problem ?

Remove the overclock from the i5, are your temps OK ?

Run memtest on your ram.

Try running the PC on just 1 stick of ram, swap sticks around to eliminate them as the problem.

Run HD Tune on your hard drives to check for errors.

Make sure you have the latest drivers an BIOS.

Do each thing in turn and check to see if you PC is running OK before going on to the next thing.
