Hey guys.

I have a very fast pc so i expect it to startup quickly in windows 7...

But sometimes it loads the desktop and i try to click on an icon and nothing happens...then maybe 10-15 seconds later all the desktop icons blink momentarily and then i can use the system.

Why does it lag like this at times and other times it loads instantly?

I have an ocz vertex 4 256gb SSD as the main drive (only 15gb space left)

And my secondary D drive is just a normal HDD (about 800 gb left)

I would suggest your boot drive if the SSD needs to be less than 75% full or you will start getting performance hits.

If possible you may need to move all you Documents/Photo/Music/Video files to the HDD, this is a easy process in windows 7 as all you have to do is move folder destination, Google this.

Move your libraries to a second drive or partition.

See if this helps, also ensure you are running the latest drivers from Intel.

The Intel® Driver Update Utility

As above, and when was the last time you secure erased the drive, this restores the drive back to factory defaults, the way it was when you first got it.

If i do this wont it delete everything on the drive, like the operating system?

Yes it will, but is required every now and again to maintain performance.

You need to basically download OCZ toolbox and burn the image file in the zip to a CD or DVD then boot from it, make sure you backup first if your going to try this.
