PC sound through home hifi speakers?

Hi,
I've just been able to obtain a pair of very nice home entertainment type speakers and i was wondering wether theres an easy way to connect them to my computer? Are there sound cards where you can plug the positive\negative leads from the speakers into or would I have to go through a sub and then through a coax?

You need an amplifier for the speakers.

Then you need the appropriate lead for connection from your sound card to the amp. Phono is unlikely on all but the high end music sound cards, so you're probably looking for 3.5mm mini jack to phono or a digital output (make sure the amp supports this if you intend to use the digital out)

Yup - an Amp is needed.

What I did for mine was to connect a pair of Beovox 3800 Speakers to a Technics SU-V660. Sounds lovely
