Hiya,

I haven't had a new pc for quite a while now and with Starcraft 2 coming soonish I think I should probably get one.

Now, to be honest, a pretty low spec'd pc should suffice but I'm a bit out of touch with all the latest components.

Budget will be £500 but lower the better :)

Here are the specs for the beta but I'd like it to run the game on the highest settings, well.

Thanks guys :)

This should work pretty nicely:

Skimped a bit on the motherboard, but hey it's a £500 spec. :p

You never know, I overlooked the OS on my first PC, built it, booted and realised I didnt have an OS

You sure the laptop won't play SC2? Seems a lot to pay for one game :p

decent spec from redmint though if it's what you really want :D

The laptop is on its way out anyway. Its currently sitting at 86C with the fans on full. I reckon its a fire hazard and probably going to melt any day now.

The heat is actually from where the power lead plugs in, around that area. Anyone got any ideas, its a Dell D630

Check that the hsf is clean from any dust :)

Just took the Keyboard off and dusted out the fan, its decreased the temps by about 2. So, still having issues.

On my temp measuring tool, there seems to be an instant gain when the cpu loads gets higher, I know that makes sense but I wouldn't have thought 50% cpu load gets me 40c and 100% load gets me 86c. It doesn't even take a while to heat up. If I get it to 100% load its burning me after 10 seconds.

Could it be a simple thermal paste issue? Maybe I could apply some more for it. Not sure I fancy fiddling too much with it though, its pretty compact under there although removing the keyboard was easy.
