pc spec please

my dads looking to build new pc, he needs it to do all his bills and work related things on. Would also like it for some gaming aswell needs new o/s , he wants to spend anywhere between £700-£800. Hes keeping all the basics like keyboard mouse, monitor from his old pc.

hes only using 17" monitor and i no that it wont get the best out of the graphic card but what can you tell a man set in his ways of "I like my monitor it looks nice and it will do"
