Thanks in advance!

almost any PC can play champ manager to be honest, even a decent laptop will play it pretty fast, you should aim to play harder to run games with that rig lol

As said by the previous poster for Championship Manager you don't need a very powerful computer.

I would look at the following parts if you do want to have a computer to play some more demanding games:

AMD Phenom II X4 955BE ~ £136

Thanks for the input.

I've amended the title - should have been Football Manager 2010 (not Championship Manager).

There will be a requirement to run multiple leagues - which I believe adds considerably to the load on the system.

Why 8GB RAM OP? Are those parts you already have?

As the others have said that program is pretty easy to run, your not going to be anywhere near pushing the limits of the posted rigs. If you want to play other games then this hardware is worthwhile, if not your throwing money away.
The 955 is cheaper and will happily hit the same speed as the 965 with minimal effort.

Recommended specs:

Football Manager 2010
System Requirements*
Intel Processor - Pentium 4 3.0GHz
AMD Processor - Athlon 64 4000+
Nvidia Graphics Card - Geforce 7600 GT 256MB
ATI Graphics Card - Radeon X1800 Series 256MB
RAM Memory - 1.5 GB
Hard Disk Space - 2.5 GB
Direct X - 9
* System requirements displayed are based on recommended system requirements and should be used as a guide only.

if you really want good performance in football manager, then a good quad core and ssd would make the most difference.

i noticed abit of an improvement going from a q6600 to an i7.
and an ssd would speed up loading, save, etc
even an intel 40gb will do the job, install windows and football manager onto that, the rest on another drive.

gpu wont make a difference, nor will ram above 4gb really

the money you save getting 4gb instead of 8 would get you the ssd, and would give u more of an improvement

do u plan to do anything else on the pc, like play other games or anything ?

definately a fast hard drive....then all the cash you save on everything else can be used to buy a cheapish laptop to play radio / movies / research training strategies / player profiles etc

I always play football manager with Radio 5 live on in the background with buildup to matches. Hardly ever notice the load times really. Always useful to do a quick forum search on my laptop without having to save and exit.
