I have sold my system which was a i7 920 DO @4.2 on a Asus Rampage III Extreme.
So i'm down grading, if that's the right thing to say :D
So would i noticed lost in performance in windows, net, or games
@ 1900x1200 in the real world. ;)
If i went for these

AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition

Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB)
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-292-CS

And what asus board would you recomend to go with this that will clock the chip @4.0- 4.2 ?

I thought at that price for the chip it's very cheap, and the ram.
Or get a different amd chip etc? i still have my 2x 6950 thou. shoooo she thinks i only have one lol will this be a problem with the spec above.
I'm only used to intel, so thought i try the cheaper AMD route. .
I just made some money on the last lot so dont want to be spending loads as the missus moans, i already have to sell my H100 :( as she caught me out lol!
that things a nice bit of kit!
Any advice would be great thanks..

Thanks but i'm using 2 x 6950's :)
Dont know much about over clocking on that chip with reviews..
Hence why i thought the amd route was good enough..

Forget intel ;)
Just want to know about the amd route if anyone has this kind of setup please :)
Dont think u read what i said ;) as i'm using 2 x 6950's/ and that board can't use that ;)
Thanks for your help anyway.

Cheers.

That board does crossfire and sli at 8X/8X, and at a tiny bit over £100 allows you to also put Bulldozer cpu's into it.

That run both in PCI-Express x16 Slot, that's what i'm looking for.. but AMD not intel ;)
I'm only used to the asus board..

Cool, that looks good board. which i can run 2 x PCIe 2.0 x16 slots :)
So would that setup be good enough,
or for little bit extra go for this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-266-AM

or not worth it.. i see loads of tests, but i just like to test in the real world, as in, will that person really notice things in a huge way in the real world.

Cheers anyways :)
