Hi guys,

Having an issue booting up my PC this morning. As soon as I press the power button the fans/lights come on fans spin then literally half a second later it powers off. It was working fine yesterday - I'm at a bit off a loss here. Power supply maybe? Tried changing the plug/outlet - same thing.

My specs are:

Gigabyte z87x-ud5h
Gigabyte G1 980ti
i7 4770k
Corsair TX750M power supply
4x120mm fans

Any help would be appreciated! Dying to play Fallout :)

OK thanks for the replies guys. So far I have:

* Reseated the RAM - including taking one of the sticks out, testing the other etc.
* Taken out the graphics card.
* Checked the cables from the psu - all seemed ok to me.

Still does exactly the same thing. Any other suggestions?
By the way, no strange smell or pop came from the PSU and the mobo still has the power light on when you plug it into the wall (the standby power light built into the mobo).

I'm guessing it could either be dead psu or a dead mobo.

Just tried clearing the cmos (mobo has a button that clears) and also tried booting to a different bios (switch on mobo for a backup bios). No change. Not sure if I fancy trying the paperclip technique!

I'm thinking I may order a PSU - a backup is never an ill store anyway. If that doesn't work, I'm guessing it must be the mobo.

Hi Tomithy,
The board is just over just over 2 years old, if it turns out to be that, I'll RMA it. Its always been a little shaky in the BIOS for some reason, but has been running fine for some time now. Sods law the game I was looking forward to most comes out and it plays up! Grrrrr!
