For some reason my PC has started to BSOD and auto restart for the first ten minutes or so after first switch on. Windows is then real sluggish for another 30mins.

Its a custom built water cooled rig although its 2 years old now. I built it and I know my way reasonably well around hardware / software.

Anyone any idea? With a problem like this I'm thinking maybe one of the components, maybe the northbridge, is deteriorating and until the silicon heats up it isn't conductive enough to overcome the deteoriation?

Ideas or similar experiences would be appreciated!

Might be worth running a memtest and hdd test, to rule them out if nothing else.

Start of by making a note of the message when it blue screens and secondly get memtest86+ running to check out your RAM sticks.

I confess I haven't run memtest since I built and tuned the rig. I'll re-run again and watch for problems.

I don't see the point of re-running now the PC has warmed up when its only when its cold that I'm getting the issue so I'll run a test session after a period of shutdown.
