Hey all, just turned the pc on this morning, not made any changes recently and it turned itself off.
Tried restarting and this is what's happening.
At one point in started for 5 mins, but then went off again.
Any ideas on which part might be failing?
I have reseated the Ram, graphics card , power leads etc and given it a good hoover out, but no change.

Any advice appreciated

That is what is called a boot loop. It is failing on whatever 40 (or whatever it flashes ot a split second after , i cant see with my old eyes) corresponds to in you mobo manual.

To start you should remove the mobo battery (disconnect power first) then clear cmos , you may have a button on back or check mobo manual on how to short the correct headers. After you have done that leave for 30 mins then take out all but 1 stick of ram and see if you can get into the BIOS, press F10 or delete when booting up PC.

as Haz mentions worth a BIOS reset. also try disconnecting power cables from SATA driver or anything else you have connected and just have the essentials plugged like the motherboard and power it on and see if it stays on, Then put the power back into your Devices one by one
What made / model if your PSU?

Cheers for the replies all, working through some suggestions and will get back to you.

The PSU is a Seasonic modular x series, thats all I know about it

Your psu is very good and I would be surprised if that is the issue, unless it is 10 years old and on its way out. I flicked the pause button and it looks like error 55 is the last one that shows which on Asus mobo is memory not detected. This can be caused by a hardware issue or the BIOS settings being messed up. Clear cmos and try to boot into bios with 1 stick of ram is always a good place to start.

Ive tried all of the above to no avail, the error/process codes that are displayed seem to differ sometimes, but it just sits there cycling through and not doing much else,
Once it showed the boot screen for about a second or two, but then flicked itself off and started again.

Time to go shopping for a new bundle I think
