Hi everyone,

I've got a strange issue with my PC. Nearly every time when I switch it on for the first time each day nothing displays on the monitor. All the fans, RGB, etc comes on but nothing displays on the monitor.

It will not switch straight off from a push of the on button again which leads me to believe it maybe gets past the boot process? So in the end I have to hold the button down for a few seconds to hard turn it off. I then leave it a few seconds, turn it back on and hey presto its suddenly working fine, displaying fine, all good. Was wondering if anyone had an idea what's occurring?

I go through a display port cable into a 1080p monitor. PC Specs are:

3.6GHz Ryzen 3700X, Patriot Viper Steel DDR4 64GB (4 x 16GB) 3200MHz RAM, Asus Nvidia 2070 SUPER 8GB, WD Blue Nvme 500GB OS Drive, WD SSD 1TB, 3TB Storage HDD, Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit.

Thanks in advance for you advice

Mark

Do you leave your monitor on standby? Have you tried turning that on and off again after turning on the PC?
Nope, I switch it off every time I'm finished with the pc. I've always tried to save on power usage where possible and know that even on standby monitors still use some power.

I had this at one time with memory fast boot enabled when i swapped from a 16gb to a 32gb kit, booted first time every time when i disabled it.
This sounds interesting and worth a look. A couple of years ago I put another 2 sticks of 16 GB in (same brand, model, timings, etc) to make it up to 64gb. The AM profile thing is enabled in the motherboard for boosted speeds. I'll try turning it off.

try a different monitor/ TV, I had this with a monitor thart was on it's way out, I think the first boot warms up the electrics a little , which helps it start on the second go, so yeah, I think that you need to rule out the monitor before digging any deeper into the issue

This is also quite possible, I've knocked the monitor (not hard) before and it's gone off for a second and come back on. Be a bit annoying if it's a write off as only got it a couple years ago.
