PC Starup Issue - Corsair HX620 V12 2.2

So I purchased a new Mobo, Asus Prime X670E Pro Wifi and AMD AM5 X7700 with 32Gb RAM and put this in my existing case which is an Antec 900 with the Corsair HX620W PSU. Ever since I built this the system has been fine but for initial start up the CPU and case fans come on, the mobo lights up but no beeps and just sits there. I press power button fort 10 seconds and it shuts down. Immediated press power button and system starts up fine. As the system components are so new and I'm running Windows 10 and BIOS in legacy mode, I thought it would be a patch update and would resolve itself. However, months on it still does it. I watched the below video on YouTube from a support channel and it points to the PSU v2.2 being the problem.

So, I'm looking to upgarde my PSU to resolve the issue. BTW I have done loads of unplugging and replacing other older cards so the PSU is the only thing it can be.

In addition to the above mobo, CPU and RAM, I also have 2 x 3Tb SATA HDD and M.2 NVMe and a Samsung Pro SATA SSD, and a Geforce 1080 Ti 11Gb.

So can someone recommend me a good PSU with ATX 2.3 that will likely last the next 10 years with my spec?

The GX-750 looks a good well featured PSU. I'm just concerned its an old PSU and I'd like something that will see me into the next 10 years and as you say, I will be looking to upgrade my GPU in a year or so. So I'd like something like that but maybe a ATX 3.0 for power efficiency. I'm happy to go up to £200 for a good reliable PSU.
 
When you say professional, there are a bunch of pro reviews on all sorts of websites, including amazon, newegg................ok, not so professional. But I see OC website as my pro-reference site to go to. So is there a better PSU for around that prices for my spec?

On Sunday, as a last resort I changed my USB panel for a new Akasa 3.1 v2 and 3.1 device. The problem still happened. I then applied some new updates from Armoury Crate and Updated to Win 10 22H2 and check BIOS for any PSU backward compatibility settings in Advanced settings, to which there were none. So saved BIOS and rebooted. Since then the problem has never happened. Every day I press power on and it boots correctly first tiime. So I guess I'm returning the PSU to save £151.

Not sure whats fixed it but I'm wondering if its a BIOS issue and just by going into Advanced settings and saving has kicked something back into life or was it the Armoury Crate chepset update. :)

Sorry its taken me so long to come back to you. So to answer your question, No, nothing. I switched on as I did every day and that morning the power came on, the system board lights up, the DVD/RW flashes as if its going through component pre-boot testing and the fans whirl away and then it just sits there, no beeps, nothing flashing on screen, nada! So I hold the power button down until it shuts down and the press it immediately, the lights come on and fans spin up as before then about 30 seconds in I here the fans slow down slightly and the screen comes on and the BIOS starts on screen.

I'm tempted to do a BIOS update as Armour Crate has a new BIOS update. I've not sent the new power supply back as I think maybe it is the PSU and its a tempramental PSU and voltage level thing.
 
So, I finally got around to installing the new asus-tuf-gaming-850w-80-plus and guess what? Still got the same problem.

I'm now totally stumped. The only other thing I've not tried is upgrading the BIOS. The new PSU is great though. Two things I have noticed is that on certain screen I did see a slight flicker in the screen, espacially on the home screen. Thats now gone. And I have noticed the response time to load apps seems to be more instant. Whether this is just my imagination but it does appear to be better. Oh and the cables are much more flexible to be able to ve moved and bound inside the case.

I'll look into the BIOS update and report back........
 
So 9 days ago I updated the BIOS from 613 which was the stock BIOS on the mobo, to the latest on the Asus support site. At the time of upgrade the latest was:

Date 13/10/2023

Following the upgrade I have had 9 days of successful first time startup. So I believe the problem is now solved. But I have noticed some changes:

1, BIOS startup is much faster. Almost 10 seconds from power on to windows boot
2, Bluetooth for the mobo is now on where as this did not even register before
3, AMD PSP 11.0 Device is now working where as before it was in error

So it could have beene that some of the device issues above where stopping it booting correctly, but they obviously required a BIOS fix.

Anyway, I hope this helps others who may come accross the problem. Good luck.
