Hi All,

I was wondering if you have any experience in Steering wheels. I was thinking of getting one but don't really now which way to go. G27 from Logitech is far to expensive. Maybe used Logitech G25?
Do you have any ideas? Anything cheaper than g25 or there is no point going under that wheel ...
Thanks in advance for all your suggestions

Logitech Driving Force Pro is pretty good for the money, I have one and think it's great. The G25 is much better, but it's also much more expensive (if you can find one!). If you really get into sim racing, maybe upgrade in the future, but as a first start, don't spend that much.

Sorry, I told you the wrong model. The one I actually meant was the Logitech Driving Force GT. The Pro is the older version and isn't as good, if you can even still get them!

Yeah, so DFGT is decent for the money. It's fully PC compatible, and almost every popular driving game on the PC officially supports it, otherwise you'll have to spend 30 sec setting up the controls manually, no great loss.

I regularly play F1 2010, DiRT 2, Race07/GTR:Evo and have tried GTR2, rfactor, Live for Speed etc and they all work great. The only game I really couldn't get on with was NFS Shift, but I think that's the game and not the wheel. I think Live For Speed probably works best with this wheel, the force feedback on that and the other sims is brilliant, F1 2010 and DiRT 2 less so, but it still works great with them for gameplay, especially F1.

Thanks very much for that. I had a look around and you can get one for about £80. That is much better price that G25.
The only issue I can think of is that I my PC chair (as probably all of them) has got wheels and I have wooden panels in the room. Since the chair moves easily on that floor, would I have any problems using the pedals? Is there something you can buy to bond it all together?

A chair without wheels.
I have exactly this issue, I tend to just borrow a chair from the kitchen for racing sessions atm, its not comfortable, but you can at least use it sensibly.

There is somewhere... a pedal stand which you can hook the casters over when using an office chair, but I can't find it atm.

I have never seen one for sale only ones people have made themselves. Would be interested if you could find a link as I suffer the same problems as you do.

On the subject of wheels though, I have owned a driving force pro, g25 and used a g27 for sometime and can definately recommend logitech wheels. From using the wheels I have found that there is no real disadvantages to one wheel over another only advantages. For example having a H gate shifter is an advantage of g25/g27 but not having it isn't a disadvantage to you as you will be find with a sequential one etc.
