OK, this is a tricky one, I've been caught in one of those helping a friend of a friend problems which has me completely stumped.
PC in question is an Evesham AMD box, some kind of MSI board and a WD SATA HDD with XP Pro & SP2. When it's powered up the machine gets as far as a few sweeps of the XP loading bar and then reboots, I assume as the result of a BSOD. When it reboots you get the text mode menu telling you that it has rebooted and you get the option to try safe mode, last known good config or start normally. Both last known good & start normally reboot at the same point, trying safe mode I get as far as loading gagp30kx.sys and the system reboots.
I'm thinking it's an HDD issue as I've tried hooking it up to my own PC and it's not properly recognised (appears to be empty, Windows wants to format it) but I can set it to be the boot disk and I get the same behaviour as when it's in the original machine.
Ideas?
