This place has been my emergency helpline today!! 
I am having a problem with movie playback on my system. It seems to be a sudden problem and I have tried system restore to remedy the issue but unfortunately to no avail.
When watching an avi file tonight it froze after a couple of minutes....eventually started again but continued to freeze at certain times.
When I initially went to try and get in to system restore, I couldn't open "help and support", but even though I got in to it via startup and have restored to a week ago, "help and support" will still not open (and the relevant file is in C/windows) but more importantly the movie playback is still freezing not only using VLC player but others too.
This has been a real bolt out of the blue this evening as I have not had any problems with movie playback as recently as yesterday afternoon.
Any advice is greatly appreciated, as always
