Hey guys.
Having issues, and if anyone could lend a hand, would be so helpful!

Basically booted up my PC, same as everyday, not changed anything recently, no updates or anything.
But for some reason today, after the Gigabyte screen, windows (7) just wouldn't load, a blank screen just sat there with either the SSD or HHD just sounding like it was trying to kickstart, (HDD light was solidly lit)

My W7 is installed on a 224GB SSD, crucible.
And I have a 1TB HDD with various stuff on it but nothing important.

So I'm very confused to why my PC wont boot.

More info:
I tried taking out the power and link to the HDD, and a sceen appears with "please connect a proper drive" or something. And when I tired just the HDD with the SSD unpowered and no link. It was just the same blank screen.

Tried bios, and booting up the SSD.

Put in my W7 disk and loaded that up to re install windows and both drives are named when it comes to choosing a drive to install to.

But I dont want to lose all my stuff on my HDD

when you load the windows disc choose startup repair and see if that cures it,might need to repeat it a few times

That option comes up with a box saying:
"This version of system recovery options is not compatible with the version of windows you are trying to repair. Try using a recovery disc that is compatible with this version of windows"

Which I don't understand because this is the disk I used to install windows 7

what about system restore?

I think its crashed at some point and messed up the boot record, you could try clearing the cmos,it could also have corrupted that

if that fails try leaving pc switched off at the wall and disconnect the ssd from the psu for a few hours or overnight, then try

How would i clean the cmos?
And not sure how to do a system restore either :p

I did a system image on 2 disks not so long ago, with a system image tool also onto a disk, not sure if that's it.

And I don't remember the PC crashing, pretty sure i shut it down fine last night.

Take the battery out of the motherboard for a good 30 mins for a decent CMOS clear

Type in system restore into your search bar in windows and follow the pretty simple instructions. Choose the date before you noticed the problems starting

Hard to do a system restore that way without access to windows.

Derp yeah, sorry! I believe if you can dig out the windows repair disk you can do a system restore through there? Similar way to do it I think, boot from the disk and hit system restore

I'm pretty sure if you reinstall windows your files all should be ok because the new install saves them to a folder called windows old in the c: drive, unless you delete the partition as that will wipe the drive.

Also you can google how to manually fix the master boot record it's pretty easy to do and is worth a shot as windows repair would normally do this, but if your OS disk is not compatible then there is the manual option.
