is this common? the rig does it whether its overclocked or not. prob takes aroun 10 secs of the case light and fans spinning up before anything happens could the psu be playing up? its prob around 8 months old bfg 800w

Oh mine does that, takes a while for it sort itself out.

My mates, starts up, powers down and then restarts and it works, eventually. Never figured out why.

using an asus mobo by any chance?? i get the same i think its LLC (Load Line Calibration). but im in windows 7 within 30 seconds of hitting the power button. spec in sig

EDIT: OP using a gigabyte board not sure if they have LLC. Still it may have some function that makes sure the cpu is getting the correct power, that is the function of LLC.
