I built my mother a pc a few weeks back and using Hwmonitor the temps never go above 25 degrees during heavy usage (1080p gaming). Is this normal? Im starting to think hwmonitor isnt very accurate... The case curently has 1x 120mm exhaust fan 1x 100mm induction (right word?) fan and this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-028-CM&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=1395 cpu cooler.

I cant post the temps atm as im on my pc but will post them tomorrow. Are there any other programs i could use to check the temps? (AMD Cpu )

HWmonitor should be just as accurate as Real Temp.

Try running an Intel Burntest on Maximum, one run with HWmonitor open see if it budges then. :p

Is the 25c your cpu or core temp? My cpu temp is currently 36c and core temp is 19c. The sensor on my chip (also amd) is obviously not working properly and I offset it by adding about 20c to the 19c making it 39c. You can try core temp
http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/ and see what that comes up with.

HWM blackbox, never a degree out:) use that and post temps.

Will give both of these a go tomorrow after college and will post results.

Erm well HWmonitor shows each core so its all 3 cores individual temps. I'll also run that program and see what it says.

Cheers for all the replies so far. :)

I was expecting the temps to have gone higher imo but they didnt... Should i worry about the temps?

what cpu?
what clock?

45C under stress seems about right, AMD run a lot cooler than Intel (probably because they arnt doing as much ;P)

Ive got a 4GHx 6 core which under stress doesn't go above 50C!

With HWmonitor it isnt the core temp you should be looking at its one of these (see pic)
