PS3 via HDMI to receiver and then HDMI to my monitor works fine, in 1080p etc but when I run my PC HDMI into the receiver and the HDMI runs from the receiver to my monitor I'm limited to 1080p whereas the monitor is 1920x1200, this is fine for movie playback but for general usage it means that I have 120 pixels not being used and it's annoying browsing the web with black bars.
Am I right in thinking that I'm just going to have to run my PC to the DVI input on my monitor rather than the Amp as it will be designed for TVs which only go up to 1920x1080. It seems to be a problem with Windows detecting the Amp and seeing it as 1080p so only giving me a 1080p output option, even though the receiver should just be able to switch the HDMI directly to the monitor, I can't force windows to use 1920x1200 so I'm stuck like this.
Is there anything I can do other than running the PC directly to the monitor and using the monitor to switch the input?
