i have my pc hooked up to my 42" panasonic tv via hdmi.

the screen to to big for the tv, does anyone know to to solve this problem?

Sounds like you have an over/under scan problem, check in the GPU's driver options, should be something to adjust the over/under scan.

i built my pc earlier ( less the grapics card) running an hdmi cable to my 42" panasonic tv.

i installied windows no problem but now the decktop is far to big on the tv. i can just see the top of the icons, time date etc in the tool bar. i have tried different resolutions but nothing seems to work. its driving me insane lol

Check your remote for the tv. There is almost always a button to adjust the aspect ratio ;)

right click on the desktop and go to 'screen resolution', go to the resolution dropdown and drag the slider down by one notch.

For some reason there is a different size (which is litterally only a few pixels smaller each way) for certain 1080p televisions :)
