Pc to android tablet media streaming.

Hi Chaps, having got a new tablet i wish to play my music and films from my main pc.
I have the shared folder option which does work with the app called es file manger although not too impressed atm.

I do also have nero mediahome which I use for my blue ray player- but cannot see this server with the tablet.

Just need some ideas and help please chaps- tablets are really new to me.

Is it an android tablet?

I use VLC as the player on my KHD.

Use ES to locate the shared folder on the PC (although vlc does this too) and then play through VLC..?
