I am going to buy all the parts tommorow or the day after, i hope all goes well after that. Could you double check everything for me and make sure that everything is compatiable or that i haven't missed anything out, i am going to be spending quiet a lot so i thought I could ahve some double check it? So there is nothing else to get besides what I’ve got? Just need a screw driver to put everything together? I've setup a pc in the past, but that was like 4 yrs ago and i used the stock AMD fan, i didn't take noise into consideration nor did i care.

Before you get any replies, I'd take off those links to that competitor.. it says in the FAQ that if you post any links to competitors, you'll get your account suspended.

Edit: Ok. I can't advice on all of that although it does look pretty good. One thing I had noticed though is that although it will probably cope with it, that 450W PSU might be put under a lot of stress when you add any more bits to the rig. You might be safer getting a 520W one or even a 600W one.

What I'm saying is although that 450W one should cope, you'd be safer getting a more powerful one, just in case

All the base components are compatible but I didn't bother checking the case fans or that you have enough PCI slots/space near a PCI slot to install the sound card.

Excellent spec (note the Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme CPU Cooler has been known to have an uneven base due to the manufacturing process and may require lapping)

i dont understand what you mean

(note the Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme CPU Cooler has been known to have an uneven base due to the manufacturing process and may require lapping)

Lapping "The process of ensuring a surface is flat, with the use of fine grade "wet & dry sandpaper and water, on a flat surface"

If the base is uneven then there will be insufficient contact with intel IHS, resulting in improper thermal dissipation of heat. Hence lapping if the base is uneven. You can check if the base is uneven by holding up to the light using a razor blade (see link 3).

hi

thanks i am going to stick with the thermal ultra. Sorry but could some double check the system for me, i am concerned about the memory would it operate at 800mhz? i came across a site that says its PC2-5300 is this wrong?

i've got a Medusa 5.1 Surround headset, should i get the Auzentech X-Plosion DTS Connect 7.1 Sound Card - Retail or is it overkill? I don't have any fancy surround sound system, just the headset.
