PC Tools Syware Doctor

My subscription has just expired and I am about to renew.

Do I need to renew my subscription or is there a free alternative to this?

I was speaking to someone the other day and they told that that Spyware Doctor isn't any good?

Please can you give me some advice. Thanks.

I would use, spywareblaster, spybot search and destroy and adaware. All free and all seem to do the job.

Two good alternatives are Super Antispyware and Maleware bytes, both have free versions with on demand scanning but lack real time protection this is offered in the paid versions of both apps

Both have high detection and removal rates and are light on the system.

I used this but problem is they dont support Vista 64 for new SD 6 version so I dumped it and moved to CounterSpy V3 (new version) that work all Windows - very cool and look nicely - will renew after Xmas. CS V3 is quite lighter and easier to use than SD 6

I use Spybot Search and Destroy, which seems to do me nicely. Though I haven't really tried any others apart from Spyware Doctor, which seemed quite resource intensive whenI tried it a while back.
