Hi all,

I am having some problems with my PC.
It seems to turn itself off whenever it gets stressed (loading games, etc) and sometimes when I accidently knock into the computer, it turns off again. I just opened the PC and checked it's all connected properly and everything seemed OK. I also cleaned some of the dust out incase that was a problem.
I don't think It's overheating because the temps are fine and I have good enough cooling.

I just put the case back together and now nothing is displaying on the monitor...

Any idea's what could be causing this?

Specs:
P4 S478 3.2Ghz
Asus P4P800SE
Inno3D 256MB 6800GT
X-Pro 460W PSU
Windows XP Home

EDIT:

Right. I just re-opened the PC and reconnected the GFX card and it seems to be more stable now and the monitor is displaying. I just kicked the case and it didn't turn off this time :D
I still think there is a problem with the PC turning off when stressed - do you think this could be a driver issue?
I am tempted to try a complete re-install because I haven't reinstalled for over a year now...
GPU temperate is 53C.

Sounds like something is loose on the cable front. Either a power lead on the hard drive cable. Would explain it shutting of when knocked.

I had a similar problem. As soon as I got into windows the power turned off. I took it to pieces and discovered the heatsink wasn't connected to the motherboard properly. It seems to be fine now ...
