Hi Guys, sorry if this is the wrong forum to post in.

I decided to upgrade my pc back in December (see related link http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?p=27320870#post27320870 )

ever since i have upgraded ive had problems, i should have brought it up sooner but i have been stubborn and attempted to try and fix the issues, first ive installed my OS about 20 times as i just keep getting corrupt files etc whenever i install new games or software, i have tried multiple OS install sources, so its not the OS install which is the issue.

I ran a Memtest and it does bring up faults, however it did say that anything could be the cause and it might not be RAM that is the issue.

So far i have put up with it like an idiot but recently i have started to blue screen and we all know that is not a good sign.

i went with the following when i upgraded my system:

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-005-GI

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/show...ktdetailseite&emcs2=BU-012-GI&emcs3=MY-129-KS

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Double check the memory voltage and timings in the BIOS also test with one memory module at a time. You might have a faulty stick.

Hi,

Is the BIOS upto date and is the RAM running correctly via XMP profile set within the BIOS.

Hello i will check these now.

everything is using the default profiles, i did attempt to change the voltages but to no success.

I will test removing the sticks individually now and get back to you.

Thanks

Hey,

ok i removed one of the RAM sticks and as a quick test just attempted installing a bit of software that had 100% failed over and over again claiming 'corrupt files' (CS:GO)

And it went through fine... im 95% sure that its the RAM stick that is the issue.

Should i run another memtest to make sure?

Thanks

Crucial CT256MX100SSD1 256GB. is my SSD

Might be the issue as i only moved my OS to it with the new hardware i got (it was just an additional drive before the re-install)

put a new cable in a new sata port on the Mobo so that will hopefully rule out that being an issue.

Run a memtest with the one memory stick that was working in all mobo slots and had 0 errors.

Run a mem test with the other memory stick and had thousands of errors.

I hope its safe to say its the 2nd RAM stick.

anything else i should check? :)

Thanks.

One more quick thing.

i went to the Kingston website and saw this:

1. You MUST obtain an RMA number before returning your product to Kingston.

2. This service is only available within the USA due to import/export requirements.
Product purchased outside the USA must be returned through the company from
which it was purchased.

Should i go ahead and raise this with the overclockers support instead?

Thanks.

Ask overclockers customer support.

Did you check the EU site? - http://www.kingston.com/en/company/warranty

Europe, Middle East and Africa:
In Europe, Middle East and Africa, if you are unable to return the product to your original point of purchase or to the authorised Kingston dealer or distributor from whom you purchased the product, you may return the product directly to the Kingston service centre after first obtaining a Return Material Authorisation ("RMA") number from Kingston. An RMA number is obtained by visiting kingston.com/en/support. In some circumstances, we may require proof of purchase.

Once you have obtained an RMA number from Kingston, you must, within thirty (30) days, send the product to Kingston Technology Europe Co LLP, Kingston Court, Brooklands Close, Sunbury on Thames, Middlesex, TW16 7EP, UK. You are responsible for the cost of insuring and shipping the product(s). The product(s) must be properly packaged to prevent damage in transit. The Kingston RMA number must be prominently displayed on the outside of the package. If you fail to display the RMA number the package will be returned to you unopened.
