pc trouble

I've been given a pc to have a look at as it's not sorking.

It's only an old emachines one.

I can't get it to show anything on the screen - any ideas?

all connectors are fine
Monitor works - as it's been used on another machine.
I can't even get it to post.

All i've connected to the mother board is -
Monitor
PSU
Ram

tried it without the ram - but no onboard speaker

i've been told it used to have a graphics card that now has been removed - would something need resetting for it to run off the boards graphics?

do i need to power up the pc with the battery missing?

Or just let it sit for a few minutes?

So you've done the jumper technique too? By how the manufacturer tells you to.

Left it out for over 3mins

it did have a graphics card - but thats been removed.
I presume it has onboard graphics as there is a monitor port.

psu is good - tried it in another machine.
same for the ram.

really got me baffled this one.

yeah fans spin.

when the hard drive etc are in the all power up.
