I've been given a pc to have a look at as it's not sorking.

It's only an old emachines one.

I can't get it to show anything on the screen - any ideas?

all connectors are fine
Monitor works - as it's been used on another machine.
I can't even get it to post.

All i've connected to the mother board is -
Monitor
PSU
Ram
:(

i've been told it used to have a graphics card that now has been removed - would something need resetting for it to run off the boards graphics?

How long did you leave it out for?

So you've done the jumper technique too? By how the manufacturer tells you to.

Left it out for over 3mins
and the jumper too.

Well the first thing that pops into my head is "eMachine". Thats the first problem. Has it got onboard graphics aswell a a dedicated card, try that. Do you get any beeps?

it did have a graphics card - but thats been removed.
I presume it has onboard graphics as there is a monitor port.
