PC turned off and won't turn back on!

what software were you using for your gpu overclock? cos i wondered if deleting that off your hard drive would help as would make the pc not start with the high voltage going to the gpu

I was using Afterburner. I removed it and the saved profiles via DDU tool whilst booted in safe mode.

It does seem odd, I'm not sure the overclock has actually done this and that that's purely coincidental.

I don't recall seeing a direct answer to this rather important question:

Yes. I took the little circular battery out and held the power button down multiple times then put it back in and the problem still persists.

However after some reading I saw something about it could be the PSU still despite my PC currently working with the 750Ti? I posted a thread on another website (not sure if i'm allowed to link) and the guy there said it could be my PSU and not the GPU because the 750Ti doesn't require a lot of power so it would be hard to know unlike the 980Ti.

This is what he said,

"
-Not a motherboard issue (You ruled this out with your 750ti)
-There is no reason for the 980ti to have "died" under your previous OC settings (unless you volt modded the card or your HSF was not functioning)
-PSU can only be tested under "load" (80%+) in which your CPU+750ti is not capable of doing (even if the 12V+ rail is degraded). So we would have to wait until your 980ti comes back in order to test this again...Thus may as well send the PSU in along with it and have them do it ;)"

Well the 750ti does take a lot less power, so it's certainly not impossible.

Tried the 980Ti in my old system. Didn't work. When I pressed power button I did see my LED on the tower turn on briefly by power button, then nothing.

mobo - Foxconn H67MP-S/-V/H67MP
PSU - Corsair TX650

Hello,

Just wanna say I woke up this morning and had the urge to try and install the 980Ti once again in hope of some miracle will happen but I noticed something which I might have missed before.

When I press the power button there is a sound like some sort of static or power going through the entire PC. When I hold the power button on the tower as you would do on a hard crash the noise goes away as if I just shut down the PC. The noise is very vague, maybe this can help solve the problem?
