PC turns off?

Hi everyone any ideas on this problem, my pc after about 1 hour turns its self off and wont reboot for a while,seems to happen when i am online as well.I have formatted a few days ago because of this but it is still happening any ideas?

Asus mobo A8R-MVP
AMD 64 4000+ cpu
ATI 1800xt pci express
2gig kingston ram
psu 700 watt
Nothing is overclocked at the mo

Sounds like the CPU is overheating - check in your BIOS for a shutdown temp and make it higher if its set to some low figure....check the cpu temp..

It could also be the PSU but as yours is 700w I doubt it is that, unless its got a fault.

If it is overheating and it's not a new rig then it could be a dust build up...

I just had a PC in with the same problem.

It was due to dust being all over the heatsink & fan.
Cleaned it up & system was back up and runing
