would like update my pc for gaming. could you tell me what i should update from my current spec

cpu i5 3750k
gpu 2GB xfx 7850
mboard gbyte z77-ds3h
ram 2x 4Gb
22" Samsung monitor

Was thinking new GPU and 24" monitor have a budget of around £300 for both

thanks

You're correct in that the GPU and monitor are the weakest components there.

However, in my opinion you'd have to make too many compromises with a £300 budget if getting both - I'd spend on a decent GPU, either a GTX970 or R9 290X and save up for a decent monitor later.

If you're set on getting both then a 380 and budget 24in would be the way to go I think - EDIT scratch my GPU suggestion and go with RJC's. The extra gb of VRAM is worth the small increase

YOUR BASKET
1 x HIS Radeon R9 380 IceQ X2 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (H380QM4GD) £169.99
1 x AOC E2460SH 24" Widescreen 1ms Gaming LED Monitor - Black £113.99
Total : £297.48 (includes shipping : £11.25 Ex.VAT).

To be honest I would forget about the monitor until you have the budget to get a really good one. I don't see the point in buying a cheap one (as good as it may be) when it's the thing you will be looking at all the time. Better to save up and be wowed by a good one.

What I would do if you haven't already got one is get a SSD (there are some cracking deals on now) and upgrade the gpu.

Yeah I agree I'll leave the monitor for now I have a 64GB SSD but that's only big enough for the OS might get a 250GB one so I could put a few games on that.

So leaving the monitor for now, what do you guys think would be the best "bang for buck" GPU for around £200?

Thanks for the reply's
