Hello guys, I'm about to upgrade PC. Today I pre-ordered r7 9800x3d.

My current spec is i5 12400f, 32gb ram ddr4, b660m, 512gb m.2, Corsair RM Series RM650, 6700xt and MSI mag 360 CPU liquid cooler, Lian li Evo XL case with 10 Lian li infinity fans, 1440p 160hz monitor.

What I would like is ddr5 min. 32gb with RGB, 1tb/2tb M2, don't know what power supply and motherboard, card 4080s or 7900xtx I'm not using RT in games, and stay with my pc case with CPU cooler.

Thank you very much for help.

You could have upgraded the CPU in your current build but anyhow...

There's a roundup of X870 boards here:

The PSU in my spec is based on the Seasonic Vertex, review here:

Note that the Vertex has a 2 year longer warranty (12 year).

The Antec has enough connectors 3x independent PCI-E cables and 2x EPS 12v for motherboard/CPU.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,467.96 (includes delivery: £7.99)

Thank you very much. Could you please advise for m.2 2tb, because 512gb is not enough this days. Or upgrade motherboard to have 2 slots of m.2 storage. So I can have system windows on 512gb separate, does it effect windows runs quicker ?

Thank you.

Most boards have at least 2, X870/X870E normally has 3 or 4.

If you just play games it is not important, but you can keep your drive so there's no problem.

Could you please advise for m.2 2tb
Based on current prices, I would suggest this one for a higher-end drive with DRAM:

Thank you very much, some of parts been unavailable, pre-order only. So I decided to buy:

2TB Samsung 990 PRO M.2 SSD
Asrock X870 Riptide WiFi due to black colour.
2x 32GB CORS VENG RGB 6000 C30
Antec HCG 1200 Pro Platinum 1200W
7900XTX will buy on black Friday deal.

Thank you for your advice.

just a thought if not shipped etc
if this will be your build going forward
nice parts but a 7900 xtx draws 360w of power..could just get a 1000w psu for £120-140 be more than sufficient..at that price still modular with 10year warranty etc..9800x3d still a very efficient cpu..you wont be straining anything.
.b650 mobo also really if going black as the riptide is £259 irrc, the nice thing about the rs wifi was the price for what you getting..unless you want usb4, a asus b650e-f is cheaper and still give a pcie gen5 gpu/m.2 slot..if you just want pcie 5 m.2 slot only, someing like the b650 gaming wifi for £165 will do
a crucial t500 2tb m.2 wil offer similar performance/endurance to a 990 pro but is £134 at mo (as @Tetras put above)..or the teamgroup G70 pro tb (£135)...actually, just seen the kingston fury renegade 2tb reduced to £134 from £179..that'd be my choice.7300read/7000write a 2000tbw endurance...'The Kingston Fury Renegade SSD is one of the fastest and most consistent Gen 4 drives I’ve ever tested-techradar'--from review, but plent gice it 5/5
if your keep everything and stay high end..look at 64gb ram. suprised @Tetras didn't mention it  . He's an advocated, whereas I'm not so much...but high end is high end
prob me being a bit peeved with Asrock for not making a black board of the rs wifi...still scratching my head working out what the asrock steel legend (another white mobo) and the riptide (black version of the steel legend, which is still cheaper) have that the rs doesn't. vrm's are identical too, and testing they all performed with margin of error to each other, and vrms were with a degree of each other too

Thank you, all of these parts already arrived and waiting for 9800x3d (ordered 14:02). I know these parts are a bit over, I'll not use them in 100% but maybe they will last me for longer, always had mid tier pc, now I decided to got decent one. AMD said next CPU still will use and support am5, and probably in next year games will use more than 32gb. Thank you for your reply.
