Hi all,

A while ago I built a gaming PC on recommendations from friends and my own research. I was also on a limited budget. I'm now looking to upgrade this so I can run games on the highest settings and still achieve a great FPS. I've done a bit of research and found I'll probably have to swap out or add some more RAM/Graphics cards/SSD and also get a much better monitor. I've listed the specs of the whole PC just in case it will help. I really looking for where my build is most lacking, what I should add to/swap and any recommendations for parts in particular.
  • Graphics Card: Asus DUAL-GTX1060-O3G NVIDIA GeForce OC Edition 3 GB GDDR5 192 Bit Memory PCI Express 3 Graphics Card 24 X 4 X 11.5 cm - Black
  • Motherboard: Asus Prime B350-PLUS AMD DDR4 S-ATA 600 ATX Motherboard - Black
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1400 Desktop CPU - AM4/Quad Core/3.2GHz – 3.4GHz Turbo/8MB/65W
  • RAM: Ballistix Sport LT BLS8G4D240FSE 8 GB (DDR4, 2400 MHz, PC4-19200, CL16, Dual Rank x8, DIMM, 288-Pin) Memory - Red
  • SSD: Samsung 250GB 850 EVO M.2 SATA Solid State Drive
  • HDD: Seagate ST1000DM010 1 TB 3.5 Inch Barracuda Serial Hard Drive
  • PSU: EVGA 600 B1, 80+ BRONZE 600W, Includes FREE Power On Self Tester, Power Supply 100-B1-0600-K3, Black
  • Monitor: ASUS VS229NA Widescreen VA LED Monitor 21.5 Inch (1920x1080, 5 ms, VGA, DVI-D, 3000:1) - Black
  • Case: CiT G Force Gaming Case with 15 LED Blue Front Fan - Black

Thanks everyone

This should be a decent upgrade although if you wanted a 1440p monitor you would be best going with a 5700xt.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £740.66 (includes shipping: £11.70)

This looks really good, I just have three questions.
These are all compatible with my motherboard and PSU right?
Isn't it tricky replacing the CPU as you need to replace the motherboard sometimes?
Finally, are any of these components like the graphics card just being added or are they all replacing my current components?

Thanks for all your help.

You would only need to update your motherboard bios before installing the new CPU but apart from that everything will be compatible.

These would all replace your old components which you could then sell on 2nd hand and offset some cost.
