At the moment, i am running a Ryzen 5 1600x with a Nvidia GeForce 1060 6gb GFX and 8gb memory. I am looking to upgrade. my problem is i can't build one myself sadly so i'm looking around for some best builds. I have asked a few people i know and each say different things ( motherboard compatability, better motherboards, RGB lighting, spend more on graphics card than processor, air fans, water cooling fans) the list goes on.

Because of my budget ( £1200 MAXIMUM ) I'm looking for a decent pc that i don't have to upgrade for at least a couple of years hopefully. I have looked at a few video's on youtube, and from what i can see, the Ryzen5 3600 is best ( NOT 3600x ) and as for Graphics card, i wouldn't mind the Nvidia GeForce 2070 super as my wife brought me a 32 inch QHD monitor for my birthday and the 2070 super seems mid range. I'm not TOO fussed about the colour lighting as keeping it cool and air flow is more important to me, although a clear side panel would be nice. Added bonus would be a cd re writer so i can rip my music cd's to pc

Could anyone advise me as to what pc i should be looking at please as i have looked at SOOOO many, my head hurts, and half of them speak goggledigook to me

With a Ryzen 5 1600X based system there's a fair chance your motherboard will be compatible with a 3600 or better.

What are the full specifications of your current system? Motherboard, RAM (how much and what speed), PSU?

Chances are you'll be able to just switch in a 3600 and a 2070S for £600 total.

Even if you don't fancy doing the work yourself, you could surely find someone else who could do it for you? Switching GPU and CPU is a fairly simple task.

AMD Ryzen 5 1600x, 8gb single channel unknown @ 1197MHz, AsusTeK computer inc. Prime A320M-K ( AM4 ), 2047MB Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB, 111GB satafirm s11, 1tb HDD and 500W Aerocool Quiet Power Supply - Bronz 80 Plus

You will need a new motherboard. The A series won't support overclocking (I stand to correction) although it would allow the CPU to boost to normal limits. That means you can't do much with the RAM either and we don't know what type nor what speed it could potentially reach.

The best bet would be a new system although you could sell this one as a comlete PC to reduce total expenditure.

Someone will spec you shortly but a B450 motherboard, 2070 Super, 500w-600w PSU, 16GB of RAM, CD writer and case should leave you spare change for a SSD and HDD.

It is unlikely you will get a link to a competitor but the spec list will show you what to look for.

Oh, no mention of a PSU there so not sure if it is included but would assume so. Also does not include Windows 10 but a key for this could be orchar purchased for around £10-£20.

However, basic spec is 3600, B450 MB 16GB RAM (cannot see speed but look for 3200MHz), 1TB SSD + 1TB HDD but could also consider 2x 1TB SSD for speed and redundancy)

Something along these lines would work for you given your situation:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,060.92 (includes shipping: £0.00)

If you contact OCUK either via for sales section of the forum or on the phone, they'll build the above for you for a fee. You would have to install Windows 10 yourself, but that's easily done and you can get keys online for around £5.

I'd sell your current system as recommended by @Noughtboy

Worth mentioning that you could get a 5700XT for around £100 less and save some cash, they're within 10-15% of the performance of a 2070S (although they do actually beat them in some games).

The 5700XT might be a little ahead of the 2070S. The RX5700 is about 10-15% behind.
