Hi

I'm going to upgrade my current build as I need the CPU, motherboard and RAM to put into an Unraid server. Current parts are i7-8086K, ASUS Maximus X Hero and 32GB G.Skill DDR4 Trident Z RGB 3600Mhz. The cooler is the NZXT Kraken X62 which I'll be reusing in the new setup (with appropriate mounting bracket).

These are the components I'm thinking of getting to upgrade, just wondering if anyone has any feedback on these parts? Any others I should consider etc?

Ah, sorry, the components are:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
Motherboard: ASRock B650M PG Lightning
RAM: Patriot Viper Venom 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6400 CL32

I'll be reusing the GPU, it is a 3080Ti FE. Monitor is LG UltraGear 34GN850 ultrawide (3440 x 1440).

You want 6000mhz C30 memoryn for optimal performance as anything above 6000mhz changes the CPU memory ratio.

You don't necessarily need cas 30 memory but as long it's 6000 MHz your good.

Motherboard is a budget option but will do the trick if your on a tight budget.
Thanks for the info. What motherboards are recommended for that CPU. I'm not sure about overclocking, as I've never done it on an AMD CPU (I've been Intel for a very long time and always overclocked them, however). I take it better motherboards will mainly provide better overclocking abilities?
