Hi all,

Long time reader first time poster - Predominately a MAC user for both work and home however I am a big gamer hence the PC also!

I am looking to upgrade my current PC so that it is able to perform a little better for gaming. It was originally bought as an off the shelf machine but has had some upgrades to it since then, but now its got to the point where I am unsure weather there is much scope for more upgrading or not.

Current spec is:

AMD Athlon 64X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ 2Ghz
4GM RAM
Nvidia GeForce GT220
24" Monitor
2 HDs at 500GB - One runs Vista, one runs XP (Gaming primarily done in XP)

I am predominantly looking at a CPU/Graphics upgrade as I think this is where I will see the best performance, although unsure weather pushing to Windows 7 will again give me any noticeable difference, and I was also thinking as to weather my Motherboard was just not powerful enough any more (limitations with only the AM2 socket..?)

Any advice would be greatly received.

Dam I feared as much... I will have a look around at some of the "Build a gaming PC for £500" topics then !

Cheers all.

Thanks for that. Seems like a pretty good combo!

And if I bought all of that together it would have everything I need?
