Hi,

I've just purchased my upgrade solution, and could do with some advice regarding reinstalling windows xp pro for the new system:

e6750
Crucial Ballistix PC6400 2 x 1GB DDR2
Gigabyte p35-ds4
xfx 8800 gts xt

Currently have a 200GB Seagate SATA I drive with a 10GB partition with Windows XP on. I also have a 300GB Maxtor SATA II drive for storage, so it will be a pain to install windows to that as there's no separate partition on it (and it's pretty full).

I also have an Nlite copy of XP with service pack 2 slipstreamed, as well as the SATA drivers for my existing mobo as far as I remember - as I have no floppy drive. Obviously I will need to start again from scratch with Nlite, but this is not a major problem.

What I'm wondering is:

1) Do I still need to slipstream the SATA drivers with Nlite? If so, this looks like the correct drivers I need.

Intel ICH9R Driver (Preinstall driver, press F6 during Windows* setup to read from floppy)
O.S. : Windows XP,Windows Server 2003 32bit,Windows Vista x86 (32-bit)

2) Are there any issues regarding XP installatiion from an IDE DVD drive and this kit?

3) I have all my programs/games etc on the second partition of the 200GB drive. What do people normally do in these circumstances? Wipe the partitiion then reinstall everything once the operating system is installed?

I will back up everything I need first though :p

Thanks

Bornslippy
